dj blaine soileau
www.djblaine.com

DJ Blaine Soileau has been on and off the turntables for over 20 years, but his recent success over the last three has created a well-built reputation making his name a buzzword on the circuit scene. Having just moved from Texas to Washington, DC, Blaine continues to hold his residencies in both Dallas and San Antonio.

Spinning both cd's and vinyl, Blaine gets special attention for his seamless, artistic and smooth transitional style. His sound is an energetic and high-octane blend of aggressive house vocals, tribal beats and big room anthems fused together to create an intense uplifting energy. Each performance is unique as Blaine's talent for connecting with the dance floor changes with each venue. He does, however, maintain consistency through his successful objective of delivering a 'fun, intense, but playful energy' throughout each performance.

This energy, talent and professionalism has taken him around the continent to cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Toronto, Chicago, San Antonio, Huntsville, Washington DC, Austin, Oklahoma City, Seattle, Rehoboth Beach and Philadelphia. Past residencies include Village Station, Throckmorton Mining Company and The Fraternity House all in Dallas, TX and Bonham Exchange in San Antonio, TX. Current residencies include 2-4 Club in Philadelphia; The Brick in Dallas, TX; and HEAT in San Antonio, TX.

Club owners and promoters find it a pleasure to work with him because of his practical down to earth attitude about life and business. He best describes himself, with a smile, as 'low maintenance' and is genuinely interested in the success of all parties involved during his performances. As Blaine's popularity continues to quickly gain momentum, his reputation for consistency and artistry also continues to make its mark throughout the circuit scene.

dj richie rich la due

"Richie" Rich LaDue has been spinning in and around the Boston area for ten years. Got his start at WZBC doing a late night mix show which led to dj work in various Boston night clubs. His high energy style has gotten him regular guest work at Pump in Miami and various BBCM events in Montreal. He is currently the Sunday resident at RISE Boston as well as biweekly resident at Summer Camp in Provincetown and Cobalt in DC.

Richie's sets tend to include a little bit of everything. Hard house and tribal, disco house, trance, and lots of vocals.

In his own words: "I find it difficult to stand out from other DJs becasue I find dance music to be very similar. That is why I like to work really fast, and let the crowd know that by putting songs on top of each other. I think it helps to get the crowd pumped up if they think 'He is trying to turn me out!' I want the audience to be turned out, surprised, and shocked. People may like me or dislike my selections but they cannot say I am lazy."

dj brett henrichsen
www.masterbeat.com

Brett has always had a passion for dance music. Working by day as a Marketing Specialist for IBM, Brett spent nights in clubs and record stores watching and learning from top DJ's and listening to his favorite style of music: high energy, vocal and progressive dance music.. In 1997, Brett was frustrated to learn that the vast majority of music he was hearing in the clubs was not available for purchase by the general public. This led him to start the CD compilation series MASTERbeat in an effort to make dance mixes available to more than just the nightclub DJ. The series proved to be immensely popular and led Brett to leave the corporate world to start his own independent record label, Trax Recording. Brett met his first artist Erin Hamilton through mutual friends and introduced her to the dance and gay community by producing their first single, "Dream Weaver". "Dream Weaver" quickly become a national #1 hit and soared to the top of the Billboard charts. Trax Recording continued to produce original dance hits with Erin Hamilton's "The Flame" and debut album "One World", along with singles from other artists including Lonnie Gordon and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Always fascinated by the skills and talent of live DJ's, it was the next logical step for Brett to take his love of music to this level and become a DJ himself. After years of "on the job training" running a record label and attending clubs and major events, Brett's goal as a DJ is to play a consistent style, keeping in touch with current music, the crowd, and including an occasional retired anthem or favorite in every set. Brett has received rave reviews from every venue and event he has played. His rise to popularity began at the exclusive Masterbeat: The Club parties hosted semi-annually at Jeffrey Sanker's LA hotspots Orbit and the Factory. Brett has gone on to play at major national events including The White Party in Palm Springs and Miami, IML in Chicago and Gay Days in Orlando. Brett currently travels the country every weekend playing at clubs and events in every major city. Brett has recently become one of the few US DJ's to experience crossover success and popularity overseas. After first playing the White Party in Amsterdam in 2001, Brett quickly received invitations to play at other major international events and clubs including the two most famous European clubs, Heaven in London and Queen in Paris. A highlight of Brett's career was his invitation to play in Ibiza, the dance capital of the world. Brett's international popularity has soared this year as he has been asked to play the Recovery Party for Sydney's Mardi Gras, the largest dance event in the world. This year Brett begins "The Masterbeat World Tour 2003" by bringing Masterbeat The Club around the world to 22 cities and 5 countries.

DJ highlights for 2003 include Sydney Mardi Gras, Cherry 8, The New York City Pride Pier Dance, The San Diego Zoo Party, and White Party Palm Springs.

dj tom stephan
www.tomstephan.com

Tom Stephan was born and brought up in upstate New York. After moving to London ten years ago to study film, he wanted to recapture the vibe created by Junior Vasquez during his clubbing days at NY's Sound Factory. He released The Revolution under the Superchumbo moniker last year, prompting a flood of remix offers, including Missy Elliot, Kylie and Basement Jaxx. His remix of Yoko Ono will be her next single and is due for release later this year; he's also worked the Superchumbo magic on Fierce Ruling Diva (The Sound Factory classic was originally retouched by Moby) and it's Tom's new mix that has stormed into Pete Tong's cool cuts chart. And old friends Xpress2 came straight to Tom for a remix of 'Muzikizum'.

But don't think Tom's become a slave to the remix. With a production rate that makes ants look lazy, he's ready to unleash new track 'Irresistible' (available in September), a blistering twisted tune to cement his position at the forefront of dance music. Hot on its heels comes the Superchumbo artist album, due for release in September on Loaded in the UK, and Twisted in the US.

The defining high of djing for Tom remains playing live. Weekends at Tribal Sessions with an up for it crowd plastered in war paint and feather head-dresses, or his own London nights, Roach at Turnmills and Tank at certifiable gay club Crash, both launched this year, give him the opportunity to play up to five hours of his inimitable brand of twisted house. As Superchumbo is Portugese for "super-leaded", his fans have now taken to calling themselves Leadheads.

Tom Stephan's transatlantic, twisted sound is an inimitable, seamless blend of deep tribal and funky beats, a journey into the darker side of dance music. He's signed to the newly revived legendary Twisted label in the States, and to Skint mother company Loaded in the UK.

dj lydia prim
www.madtizzy.com

Billboard reporting DJ (since Oct'94), Lydia Prim, may be the buzzword on every gay circuit boy's lips these days. But she's certainly no newcomer to the turntables. Born in Mongomery Alabama, she's been playing in the Southern club scene since 1989 when she began her first residency at Pensacola's Office. She quickly earned a loyal Southern fan base between such cities as Birmingham, New Orleans, and Atlanta, playing regional venues like Oz, Backstreet, the Station, and the Bourbon Pub. In May of 1994, Lydia played the main event, Big Top, at Pensacola's Memorial Day Weekend, which began a series of fairly important dance events that included: Chicago's Hearts, Maimi's Amnesia, New Orleans' Decadance, and various Hotlanta parties. However, it wasn't until 1999's Folsom Street Festival in San Francisco that Lydia finally earned high accolades on a national level, for her performance at the closing party.

She has since become one of the most liked and talked about DJs in the country… not merely because she's a female in a male dominated industry. But, because she is an incredible artist with, what seems to be, a direct connection to the dance floor. Lydia's style is definitely all her own; incorporating a soulful blend of tribal beats, progressive trance, and the perfectly timed anthemic vocals….all with a distinctive butch edge. Playing nearly all on vinyl, her mixes are smooth , seamless, and intoxicating…her playful nature and sharp humor always evident in her spinning.

In the summer of 2000, Lydia made her New York debut at the Hampton's most anticipated social benefit of the year, the Empire State Pride Agenda's Tea on July 15th. She has since become the resident DJ for Twilo Tea in NYC. Her appearances have taken her across the continent , including such cities as Dallas, Houston, Vancouver, Toronto, Columbus, Los Angeles, Seattle, Detroit, Atlanta, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Pensacola, and Washington DC. Upcoming major events which Lydia is booked for are: Miami Winter Party Weekend, Philadelphia's Blue Ball, Southern Decadance, Hotlanta, New York Pride, Toronto's prestigious Fashion Cares, Provincetown's 4th of July, and Jeffrey Sanker's Palm Springs White Party. She currently has regular residencies at Salvation in Miami , The Dock in Cincinnati, and Twilo in New York.

In March, 2000, Lydia joined the ranks of such superstars David Knapp, Manny Lehman, Billy Carroll, Thunderpuss's Barry Harris, and London's underground dance darlings Sunscreem as a member of Madtizzy Productions managed team of musical artists.

dj abel
www.4playrecords.com

Abel Aguilera was born in New Your City and has always had a love for music. At thirteen, Abel moved to Miami where his fever for the turntables began. Abel started helping his friends at high school parties in the late seventies - taking turns at the tables to see who was better.

In 1980, Abel was offered jobs spinning at nightclubs on Miami's famous Bickell Avenue. Local radio producers caught on to his infections rhythms and soon Abel had his own mix show on Miami's Super Q FM 107. This famous show ran nearly seven years. 1984 found Abel spinning at his famous "Waterfront." In 1992, "Paragon" opened and Abel played on Saturday nights - which he describes as "heaven."

Then in March of 1996, "Salvation" opened in South Beach. The promoters brought Abel in to spin Saturday nights and from there he made a spectacular musical impression on the world.

Soon afterward, Abel and Ralph Rosario partnered and created the production and mixing team known as "Rosabel." Together they have had the opportunity to work with Otmar Liebert, Gloria Estefan, Donna Summer, Jeanne Tracy and others. Abel's first release on 4 Play Records, The Party of A Lifetime, in a continuous-mixed CD that represents Abel's skillfully-crafted, Miami-influenced sound. He now continues the momentum on Circuit Sessions 00.2 - an explosive collection of underground rhythms that is sure to become required listening for any dance music or circuit enthusiast. This compilation also features Abel's first solo single, "Control."

dj don bishop
www.djdonbishop.com

Don, like so many others, started out as a bedroom DJ learning how to mix music in his apartment by trial and error. He was influenced by the DJs at the Saint and other clubs when lived right outside New York City in the early 80s. In 1985 was transferred to Southern California with his regular job and landed a regular weekly dj gig at a small club in Orange County California. He remained there for about 7 years. In 1992 he transitioned over to the Rave scene for a short time. At that time lots of interesting things were happening in that scene and shortly after crossed over into what we now call "circuit".

In the mid 90s Don was given a couple international opportunities in Mykonos Greece and then Sydney Australia while maintaining residency DJ spot at the Boom Boom Room in Laguna Beach California. From the mid 90s Don has been been asked to play clubs and circuit events all over the country. He continues to rotate his time at a host of clubs and circuit parties on a pretty regular basis and loves it.

In October of last year Don relocated to south Florida and is excited about playing benefits like Cherry 8, pool parties and other fun things in 2003.

adam killian
www.adamkillian.com

Starting his performing career at 19 in Hamburg Germany, Adam has enchanted audiences throughout most of Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and across the States. His powerful stage presence and sexy charm tease and tantalize the crowd, effortlessly taking them on a playful and slightly naughty journey. Soon after moving to LA in 1998 Adam dove into the North American circuit scene by performing at Jeffrey Sanker's White Party. He has created quite the resume working with superstar DJ's and the most talented performers in the scene. (which can be viewed in full on his website www.adamkillian.com ).

Cherry 7 Closing Party, Alegria NYC/Miami, White Party Palm Springs, Black & Blue Montreal, Mardi Gras Sydney, Viva Las Vegas, Zoo Party San Diego, Decadence New Orleans, Caligula NYC, Black Party NYC, Altitude Ski Week Whistler, Rich's Houston, Bad Boys Pool Party, - are only a few of the events where Adam captured our attention. From fashion runways in Tokyo to military-balls in Berlin, Adam adapts his charater to the energy of the moment. Adam's image is just as versatile, jumping from the taboo images (with a shaved head and black angel wings) seen in the first "Dream Boys" to 'the boy next door' look on the cover of Instinct's 5th anniversary issue.

Adam will bring this versatility to Cherry 8 to create a spectacular and masculine, provocative and daring show. After setting the bar high at last year's Closing party we look forward to his contribution at this year's main event.

stereomovers
www.addictiverecords.com

Alexandre Dionne and Simon Roy of the Stereomovers bring a fresh new energy to the main event this year with their unique sound. Inspired by house music with tribal flavor and a progressive European sound, Montreal-based Stereomovers create a musical universe that moves between Steve Lawler's groove and John Digweed's intensity. But the Stereomovers are nothing like Lawler or Digweed. In fact, Alex and Simon are far from your everyday DJs - they're not even DJs at all. The Stereomovers are 100 percent turntable-free, depending only on their samplers, soundboards, keyboards, guitars, a mic, and some FX. Together, Stereomovers compose, produce, and mix all of their own music, and even provide their own astounding vocals.

Their multitasking musical genius comes wrapped in a sound that's universal appeal is akin to that of Depeche Mode, to whom their vocals are often compared by the first-time listener. However, to the multitudes of devout screaming fans, the Stereomovers' sound is as unique and impressive as the way it is produced. Bringing electronic music to a higher plateau, the Stereomovers display their striking and wonderous muscical aptitude, as any of their concertgoers will attest. The Stereomovers aren't DJs, they're creators.

Creating music this good creates near mayhem on the dance floors at every Stereomovers performance. Stereomovers have headlined at Stereo's main room for the club's 3rd Anniversary, at Aria in Montreal, in Europe at the Printemps de Bourges, and even at Montreal's legendary Black and Blue Festival - the largest indoor dance event in the world, with attendance over 30,000. This is no small feat for any band, let alone one as fresh and young as the Stereomovers. The Stereomovers are taking the world by storm, with frequent performances in Lisbon, London, Paris, Italy, and Germany, as well as a breakthrough slot at the Spectrum for Red Party.

Cherry is pleased to feature the Stereomovers at our Main Event this year at Cherry 8!
