Off-Broadway's soaring sensation De La Guarda flys high in an open-ended run at the Daryl Roth Theatre (20 Union Square East at 15th Street). The show celebrated its 5th Anniversary in New York on June 16th, and its 2,000th performance on Friday, July 11th.

This past summer marked De La Guarda's 5th Anniversary in New York. Upon opening as the inaugural production at the Daryl Roth Theatre in June 1998, the show pushed the boundaries of theatrical convention and became a major draw on the downtown theater scene. In June 2001, the production celebrated its third anniversary in New York with the premiere of a spectacular new finale sequence. De La Guarda's popular DJ CONNECTION summer event debuted in 2002, featuring performances by world-class DJs at the show every Thursday night. DJ CONNECTION continued this past summer, with a top-notch line-up of DJs including: David Hollands, Hector Romero, Josh Wink, Satoshi Tomiie, Stacey Pullen, John Acquaviva, Jaesun Celebre, David Hollands, Derrick May, Ralph Lawson, Manny Lehman and Barry Ashworth aka Dub Pistols and is on the boards to resume next summer! De La Guarda has wowed audiences the world over through productions in Las Vegas, London, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Seoul, Amsterdam and Berlin, in addition to the long-running New York hit. De La Guarda opened in Japan this summer as well.

De La Guarda landed in New York following a successful run at the 1997 London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT), where it played to sold-out houses and unanimous critical acclaim. Members of De La Guarda performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina in various combinations for over 12 years before coming together in 1993 to form the current production, which toured Europe and South America before its U.S. debut. De La Guarda is directed by Pichon Baldinu and Diqui James.
