DJ Blaine Soiléau has won a loyal and enthusiastic following of club and party goers as a result of his unique understanding and connecting with his dance floor. In a musical society where style and image integrate often blurring reality, Blaine has surprisingly opted to share with his public the real persona behind the turntables.

"From the start I wanted people to know the real me and what I am about. Music is an intimate art form, and I think it's important for people to get to know my authentic personality and not just some persona.

While everyone can relate to the name "DJ Blaine," the family name can sometimes throw people off. Soiléau, pronounced (swallow) is about as Cajun as you can get. Born in south Louisiana, Blaine has been on and off the turntables for the past 20 years.

Spinning since the late 70's, Blaine's musical career bears witness to the many different styles that have evolved into today's dance music. "A great deal of the music produced today is not new; it's only reworked and remixed using familiar samples and hooks from popular songs of the past. It has been an incredible musical journey, and I am glad to have been part of it. I smile and reminisce every time I hear those old hooks and samples in today's music."

Blaine's style and experience have taken him around the United States and Canada. His unique blend of high octane vocals, tribal beats, and big room anthems create an intense uplifting energy which sets him apart from most other djs. Currently, Blaine holds residencies in Washington DC at APEX, Velvet Nation and the increasingly popular after-hours dance-a -thon SundayMASS DC which was voted "Best Alternative Party" by the Washington Blade editor and its readers.

Always striving to make every set different and unique, Blaine works toward tailoring the experience each time he spins. It is this trait, coupled with his ability to read a dance floor that Blaine has become so sought after in the circuit community. Blaine's journey as a dj is one of passion and emotion which can be experienced in each performance.

"I am who I am. No made up name and diva attitude. Just me, the gift of the music I share, and a style I call my own."
