Back by popular demand, Sunday afternoon of Cherry Weekend is a chance to catch some sightseeing and mingle with your new & old friends. And we provide the perfect setting for you to pick your pleasure all aboard the Spirit of Washington on a cruise down the Potomac. We’ve even commandeered a new boat for our Tea this year. Trust us— you will not want to miss this special event.

Soak up the sun on the multilevel outdoor decks as the Spirit of Washington glides past the magnificent ever-changing vistas including the gothic spires of National Cathedral and Georgetown University, Rosslyn’s ultra-modern office towers, and the graceful arches of Memorial Bridge. Be on the lookout for J. Seward Johnson’s monumental sculpture The Awakening emerging from the ground of East Potomac Park where the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers converge at Haines Point. See if you can spot the other Washington Monument towering above the colonial cobblestones and townhouses of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

On the turntables, local sensation DJ Blaine Soileau, famous for serving up his Sunday blends, will delight and captivate you as you dance to his special revival sounds amidst the breathtaking views. Whether surrendering to the beats on the dance floor, or catching up with your friends, don’t forget to sample the light brunch fare served up by our friendly cruise staff.
