THE MAUTNER PROJECT FOR LESBIAN HEALTH
www.mautnerproject.org

Now celebrating its 14th anniversary of dedicated community service, the Mautner Project for Lesbian Health is the national lesbian health organization. The Mautner Project's mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of women who partner with women and their families through direct services, research, education and advocacy. Through an innovative combination of local direct services and national outreach and education, the volunteer-driven Mautner Project plays a leading role in lesbian health education and promotion, provides technical assistance to lesbian health projects throughout the country, and coordinates the National Coalition of Feminist and Lesbian Health Projects. We educate healthcare providers on the special concerns of lesbian clients and increase access to healthcare for all lesbians through the nationwide dissemination of "Removing the Barriers," our field-tested training program developed in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This year, we are launching the first national health education program for African American women who partner with women, called the Spirit Health Education Circle. We have also expanded our direct services program for lesbians with cancer.
