Production Stage Manager
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, André has spent years working backstage starting from a performance arts middle school in Miami through the present. A graduate from Yale with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, concentrating on Neurobiology and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he honed his technical skills in many production areas, from serving as the Production Officer of the Yale Dramatic Association, the country's oldest college theater organization, numerous Yale School of Drama and Yale Repertory productions, and training in stage management, set and lighting design at Florida International University and the Yale School of Drama. Upon his move to DC, besides keeping up an active schedule playing varied Stonewall Sports, he has worked on many events to include Cherry, producing the Capital Pride Sunset Dance Party, and running all the events for the Stonewall National Sports Tournament. He firmly believes in Cherry's mission and is excited to share his skills to help the organization continue to support local DC charities.
Cherry is an annual charity dance music event, which has raised more than $1 MILLION for Washington, DC HIV/AIDS services and prevention.
